Global Fusion Music Arts is a local arts charity that was founded by members of ‘The ‘Fusion Factory,’ a world music band created with the desire to bring new and fresh flavors of world music and representation to the Greenwich community. This led to the band being dubbed ‘The United Nations of Musicians.’
Louisa Le Marchand, manager of GFMA, filmmaker, playwright, songwriter, and co-founder of ‘The Fusion Factory’ Band says that, “Greenwich is an amazing…multicultural (borough) with different genres from young people…”
Almost 22 years later, GFMA’s work has expanded beyond music.
From its own record label (GFMA Records), to the wide range of creative in-person and online workshops that are held for children and young people in fields such as music, filmmaking, art, scriptwriting, and even gardening; which are free (or low-cost) to enable easy accessibility, GFMA’s ethos remains, “using creativity to build confidence.”
Louisa says, “Music and the arts make such a big difference…music is life, and the arts are so important especially at this time where things are difficult for people… music lifts people out of themselves.”
